This seminar is to help students understand and gain practice in the practical side of doing research. Research life skills such as presentations, writing grants, reviewing papers are covered. Students and faculty present talks, with different formats each semester. In addition, a limited number of guest speakers provide information on topics drawn from a wide variety of areas such as the following: IRB issues, intellectual property issues, research grants, white papers to industry, reviewing papers, responding to editors, research ethics, corporate relations, etc. All COS students are required to take this practicum all semesters when they are full time students.
